September 28, 2010 - Sailing out of Singapore to Terranganu

By: Arturo Valdez

10:45 AM - Left Republic of Singapore Yacht Club (RSYC) for Terranganu, Malaysia. Send off party composed of ConGen Neal Imperial, RSYC Commodore Tan and Captain Robart who greatly assisted us in  our 3-day stay.  It was a great visit for us especially the warmth of the local Pinoys led by Ambassador  Minda Cruz who took care of us. Now we're excited to go back to sea for the 300 NM travel to Terranganu.

11:55 AM - Balangay flotilla with colorful sails now cruising the heavily congested Singapore Strait amidst supertankers and VLCC's. Quite a sight to behold - the ancient and the modern vessels of the maritime  world and Balangays at the center of 'em all. Philippine flag proudly flutter among the waves.

3:17 PM - Supertankers, VLCC's, every vessel queuing along the Strait must have Pinoy seafarers beaming with pride seeing Balangay colors cruising along their modern ships on their way out of Singapore. The ancient Balangays affirm their glorious seafaring heritage.
