August 13, 2010 - Journey to Taganak

By: Arturo Valdez

August 13, 2010

5:45 AM - Left Sibuti wharf for the 126 NM journey to Taganak and finally Turtle Island the next day. Slowly we are reaching the remotest islands of the Philippines. Prayed that its going to be a good day.

8:21 AM - We are now skirting international borders with Malaysia but keeping still within our waters moving towards Taganak. Malaysian boarder patrols are now shadowing us. We aim to visit Taganak and Turtle Islands to visit our troops in remotest assignments and show them our Balangay flotilla to boost their spirits in far flung missions.

9:35 AM - We have some problems with Sama Tawi Tawi, momentarily we are fixing it at high seas. We are drifting towards the border and working hard to fix it.

10:14 AM - We've fixed the problem and Sama Tawi Tawi is  moving again. Skies started to get cloudy. Masawa and Diwata have gone ahead with Navy 341. Malaysian border patrol are behind. We'll catch up with Masawa and Diwata.
